why is it called "mero" instead of "merodi"?
Well, I guess just like the following words:
携帯電話 (keitai-denwa) --> 携帯 (keitai)
Supermarket --> suupaa
Department Store ---> depaato
Convenient Store ---> konbini
Television ---> terebi
You only need to say the first part of the word along with the rest of your sentence and it will be clear enough to the listener what you are talking about.
aren't they lazy or what LOL
