This happened on September 4, 2006.
8:30 am My husband said, "Steve Irwin is dead!"
I was was still sleeping but I said with my eyes closed, "What? The Crocodile Hunter?"
My husband said, "Yes, killed by a sting ray."
I felt sad and found it hard to believe, "A Sting Ray can kill?" but I was too sleepy and turned the other way.
9:30 am I was dreaming but I was thinking about Steve Irwin.
Did I hear he was dead? No way! How could that be? I went back to sleep.
10:45 am I once again thought about Steve Irwin and decided to get up. I found my husband in the study room and asked,
"Is it true that Steve Irwin is dead? Killed by a Sting Ray?" Hoping that it was just one of my dreams, but found out it's true. I felt really sad. My heart sunk. I felt really, really sad. It was till later that evening that it finally set in, "He is gone."
But I still can't help feeling very depressed and shocked. He was such a cheerful, great guy!! Everytime a croc tries to steal an attack, he will always have his hands on it and said "You're alright mate, you are alright." That's my all time favorite and reassuring part. I will miss seeing him on TV. Alot! *Sniff, sniff*
