A good reminder that we should love our cat/pet more now, not when they are gone...

Kitano Takeshi (北野武)'s Movie

I watched this 1996 movie directed by Kitano Takeshi called "Kids Return" (キッズ・リターン) (壞孩子的天空) tonight. What an excellent movie! Definitely check it out!

愛的發聲練習

There are good looking people in this Taiwanese movie, but that's about it.
The story lacks any development and is simply a desperate attempt to concoct something out of all the ingredients of so-called love.

かもめ食堂 - Kamome Shokudou

Finally saw this movie!! A clean, quiet, light movie with 3 women crossing paths in Finland. Some people might feel this movie is like a breath of fresh air. Some people might be constantly bugged by the question of how she can sustain the business ... But for someone living in California, the life style is not too different from what's portrayed making it tough to like or dislike this movie. It just sort of serves as a nice reminder that we are living the way many people are striving for and should be contented.

K - 20 怪人二十面相

K-20 is action-packed, almost like the Japanese Batman or Zorro. :) And of course, love the fact that 金城武 and 松たか子 are in it!

「暗いところで待ち合わせ」

I love to watch Tanaka Rena maybe because her look resembles a cute little kitten to me. This movie is quite interesting. I think most people will find it very slow and boring, but I really enjoyed it. I like the story line and the interactions between the 2 main characters. It's a must see! :)

『おくりびと』

やっと見られた! It's a wonderful, heart-warming movie. I disagree with New York Times' review saying "one would wish for a fast-forward button to confirm what they already predicted." This movie is not about predicting what is going to happen next, but rather to experience the love and tenderness of human relationships and the emotions associated with deaths.

Anyway, I am a fan of 山崎努. Only he can play the characters he played in all those dramas and movies. 本木雅弘 and 広末涼子 are also good actors that I like to watch, so all in all, a great movie!

바보

Babo 바보 (Fool), a nice Korean movie.
But all along, I was conscious that these people are actors acting out a movie.

銀色のシーズン

瑛太と田中麗奈主演の青春映画です。
The movie took 3 months to finish shooting at Hakuba, Nagano. (長野県白馬村)
This movie is Okay. I won't mind watching it again.

死神の精度

I'm not sure if I would like this movie if 金城武 was not in it. If the main character had been played by 豊川悦司, I am pretty sure I'd have fallen asleep.

WALL·E ウォーリー

家族で安心して見られる映画。
ぜひ見てくよ!

Finally, a relatively good Hong Kong movie! Wonderful song, too!

Pretty face & good song

Was on the phone with my sister earlier. She rented the movie "The Holiday" and really enjoyed it. I saw it earlier, and I basically love all Jude Law's movies. So I told her to check out the other one which she has not seen - Alfie. Though some people complained the movie has too many close-up head shots of Jude, I just think that's the best part of it! :-)

摯愛 Embrace Your Shadow

日本版:『雨音にきみを想う』

The story is weak, incoherent and unconvincing. The movie is full of zoom in shots of the good looking characters, including the little 5-year old girl. Even though I did not fall asleep after watching 2 other movies before, I can not say I like this movie. :-(

金曜日の夜

Saw this movie tonight. This is such a strange, interesting yet beautifully filmed movie. Check it out if you can. Watch it on big screen. I like the actress a lot after this movie. She is very likable despite her non-stop smoking character...


This was dinner tonight...

Steam the brocolli and then drain it
Chop up some greens and stir fry it with a little garlic, oil and a pinch of salt
Stir-fry beef with onion, mushroom and little chopped garlic with a little ponzu
Add hikiwari natto in the middle and top all of these over a bowl of steaming hot rice!

1. North Country

とても良い映画だと思います ... It brought back memories of the essay I researched and wrote, Women's Role in Society, back in high school.

2. March of the Penguins

It's a documentary narrated by Morgan Freeman. It's wonderful, interesting and informative! Definitely exceeded my expectations. I will say it's another Must See!!
